1. Quotas: Quotas may be requested from the respective activity by letter, message, fax, e-mail, or via schoolhouse web page. Quotas are not granted via phone (except for extenuating circumstances) due to the high number of No-Shows they generate). To request a quota, forward the following information: course title and date, branch of service, rate/rank, full name, unit/command/ company, mailing address, telephone number, fax number, and e-mail address. Quota confirmation will be returned by same method used to request the quota. See special directions for each command in paragraph 4, below.
2. To Cancel a Quota: If students are unable to fill a requested quota, please notify the training activity as soon as possible. If quotas are filled, individuals may request to be placed on a standby list. Individual will be notified if/when a quota becomes available.
3. Uniform: Uniform of the day is required for all military personnel. Appropriate attire is required for all civilians. See special instructions in paragraph 4.d for NEPMU 6 Pearl Harbor.
4. Orders: TAD orders are not required for personnel only attending training classes. The individual's parent command will retain service, health, dental, and pay records. When messing and/or berthing are required, it is recommended that parent commands issue orders as follows:
a. NMCPHC: Orders should direct students to report to the Commanding Officer, Navy and Marine Corps Public Health Center, at the address below. During normal working hours (0730-1600), individuals report directly to the Navy and Marine Corps Public Health Center. After hours individuals may leave a message on (757) 953-0700. Report prior to 0730 on the first day of the class. There is no military berthing available in Portsmouth.

b. NEPMU 2: Orders should direct individuals to report to Officer in Charge, Navy Environmental and Preventive Medicine Unit No. 2, Bldg X-336 Norfolk, VA 23511-3394. Orders are required to attend training given by NEPMU 2. Officer and Enlisted personnel requiring messing and berthing at the BOQ or the BEQ can request reservations toll free at 1-877-986-9258. Additional lodging is available at the Navy Lodge (1-800-628-9466), the Hampton INN (1-757-489-1000), and the Comfort INN-Navy Base (1-757-451-0000 or 1-800-Hampton).
