Background
Occupational and Environmental Epidemiology deals with environmental and occupational conditions and exposures that may pose a risk to human health. Recent operations and activities have demonstrated the need to place great emphasis on environmental, industrial and occupational exposures, combat stress and non-battle injuries. The EpiData center identifies and quantifies exposures to environmental and occupational contaminants; conducts epidemiological studies of exposures, risk assessments and surveillance for adverse health effects on the military and civilian population. The EpiData Center also makes recommendations for policies that impact Naval occupational and environmental health.
